Was happily using older version of CCB, which was working well, until today. Update to v3.0.0 announced itself on startup, asking if I wanted to update. I replied yes.

Big mistake.

Now, when starting up, Landline ColdCall Filtering space reads "Calls automatically intercepted," but this disappears after a few seconds. Used to read "Warning only."

I went to the Tools menu and clicked the "Test Connection" button to verify that the client can talk to CCB.com... it apparently cannot. Used to work fine; now I get a window that pops up to say "Unknown error. Contact ColdCallBlocker support." When attempting to use the Online Account menu item, I get a window that reads "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application...", blah, blah, "...The system cannot find the file specified."

Any clue as to what broke during the update? And how to repair it??

Hi,

Thanks for your message. Sounds like something didn't go quite according to plan with your particular upgrade. The following steps ought to get you back up to speed:

Uninstall ColdCallBlocker using the "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features" option in your Control Panel.

Check that you've got Microsoft's .NET Framework vs. 3.5 installed (using the same Control Panel option). If not, you can get it via Windows Update or direct from Microsoft. See our FAQ for the link.

Reinstall ColdCallBlocker using the Download section of our site.

Hope that helps and do let us know how you get on.

Regards,
