Automatated protection from unwanted cold-callers is first achieved
by connecting or installing a Caller-ID compatible modem.
You may actually already have a modem if,
for example, you use your computer to send and/or receive faxes.
However, if you do need to install a new modem,
the correct steps for doing so varies with each modem so check the installation documentation
that ships with your particular model.

Once your computer is equipped with a suitable modem,
the next stage is to install the ColdCallBlocker™ client
onto your Microsoft Windows™-based computer.
The software is compatible with Windows 2000™,
Windows XP™ and Windows Vista™ in both 32-bit and 64-bit environments.
Start by downloading the MSI installer file located on the Download page on this web site.
This file is a standard Windows Installer package containing a complete ColdCallBlocker™ client installation.
Unless you have limited system permissions on your computer, it should simply be a case of clicking the above link and selecting "Save".
Your browser will then prompt for a location on your computer to save the file to.
Specify a location that you will be able to find easily once the download has been completed - your desktop is a good choice.
Once the file has been downloaded, close your browser and then feel free to verify the contents of the file using any anti-virus or anti-spyware software you may have.
Finally, double-click the downloaded ColdCallBlocker.msi file.
This will start the automated installation process and the following welcome window should then appear:
Click the Next button to continue with the installation.
